Experience the Ultimate Wellness Retreat at Paradisus by Meliá Bali

Bali is known for its landscapes and its culture, and also for the calm it gives to people who come here to rest. Paradisus by Meliá Bali is a wellness resort on the beach in Nusa Dua, set in tropical gardens by the sea. Here is how to shape a restorative stay, from the spa to morning yoga and the Balinese traditions that surround you.

YHI Spa: rituals for body and mind

YHI Spa sits in the resort’s gardens, reached along a quiet path, and has 12 treatment rooms. Its menu includes massages, facials and body treatments, and three signature rituals:

  • YHI Island Ritual, 140 minutes: an aromatherapy foot bath, a coconut body scrub, the YHI Signature Massage, a refresher facial and an infusion.
  • Serenity Ritual, 110 minutes: an aromatherapy foot bath, a mineral scrub, a therapeutic massage and a hydrating head massage.
  • Harmony Blessing, 80 minutes: an aromatherapy foot bath, a warm coffee scrub and an aromatic body massage.

Book treatments in advance, especially for the longer rituals, and arrive a little early to slow down before you begin.

Yoga and mindful movement

Mornings start with movement in the daily Life Enriching Program. Flow Yoga takes place in Taman Surya, the beachfront garden, and mat Pilates, aqua classes and gentle stretching sessions fill out the week. Yoga is part of the Life Enriching Program, which is included on an all-inclusive stay. For more on the programme, read how to find balance at Paradisus by Meliá Bali.

Eating well

Wellness also means eating in a way that suits you. With eight restaurants and seven world cuisines, you can choose what feels right at each meal, from Japanese at Tokimeku and Asian at ARUM to Middle Eastern at Samira and Spanish at Peseta. If you follow a special diet, let the restaurant team know. See all restaurants and bars.

Balinese traditions

In Bali, wellness is local. The island’s daily rituals are part of the calm you feel here. At the resort, afternoon culture workshops in the Life Enriching Program include canang sari, the small daily offering of flowers in a woven palm-leaf tray, and janur art from young coconut leaves. There are two temples inside the grounds, Giri Amertha and Segara Amertha, and a guided visit to one of them is part of the programme.

Beyond the resort, Balinese Hindus take part in melukat, a water purification ritual held at temple springs. Pura Geger, near Nusa Dua, is one of the places where it takes place. Read more about cultural experiences in Nusa Dua.
