A family laughing in a kayak on the calm sea in front of Paradisus by Meliá Bali, Nusa Dua

Why Nusa Dua

A calm beach, close to the airport

Nusa Dua is on the Bukit Peninsula in the south of Bali, and the resort is 12 km, about 20 minutes by road, from Ngurah Rai International Airport, a short transfer after a long flight with children.

The beach in front of the resort faces a calm, sheltered lagoon, so the water stays gentle for younger swimmers, kayaks and paddle boards. As on any beach, children should swim with an adult watching.

Eight restaurants, with a kids’ menu at seven of them

The eight restaurants cover seven world cuisines, from Japanese at Tokimeku to Spanish at Peseta and South American grill at Kanna Beach. Every restaurant has a kids’ menu except Santé at The Reserve. The Shack, beside the Aquazone slides, is the easy lunch between swims, and all-inclusive rates include dining across the resort.

Where to stay

Our recommendation: Family Concierge

For a family holiday we recommend Family Concierge, the resort’s family service. Its 43 suites each have a bunk-bed area for children, and families check in privately, have breakfast in their own setting at Peseta and keep a cabana on the beach.

Travelling with teenagers of 16 or older? The Reserve, the resort’s adults-only area for guests 16 and over, is also open to you.
